USA Cheer

The USA Cheer Cheerleading Safety and Risk Management Course is the full course required for most state activities and athletics associations, as well as meeting college requirements for insurance coverage. The course is also beneficial for all star programs and for dance programs that involve lifts.  It is based on USA Cheer’s Cheerleading Safety Manual (4th edition). This course covers the topics of safety awareness, legal responsibilities, medical responsibilities, environmental safety factors, safety equipment, spotting, performer readiness, skill progressions, and levels of participation. This course is ideal for Junior High, High School and College coaches and administrators seeking to increase their knowledge of the important safety factors in cheerleading and cheer-related activities and methods to minimize risk. 

The USA Cheer Youth Safety & Risk Management Course is a youth-focused course based on the USA Cheer Safety & Risk Management Course, the standard of care for cheer-related sports and activities.  It is based on USA Cheer’s Cheerleading Safety Manual (4th edition).

It covers the topics of safety awareness, legal responsibilities, medical responsibilities, environmental safety factors, safety equipment, spotting, performer readiness, skill progressions, and levels of participation.

This course is ideal for coaches and administrators seeking to increase their knowledge of the important safety factors in cheerleading and cheer-related activities and methods to minimize risk.

The USA Cheer Special Athlete - Safety & Risk Management Course is an athlete with a disability focused course based on the USA Cheer Safety & Risk Managment Course, the standard of care for cheer-related sports and activities. It is based on USA Cheer's Cheerleading Safety Manual (4th edition).

It covers the topics of safety awareness, legal responsibilities, medical responsibilites, environmental safety factors, safety equipment, spotting, performer readiness, skill progressions, and levels of participation.

This course is ideal for coahces and administrators seeking to increase their knowledge of the important safety factors in cheerleading and cheer-related activities and methods to minimize risk.

This is the comprehensive cheer rules training for the NFHS/USA Cheer Rules for the 2025-26 season. This training course is ideal for new coaches or those who want to refresh their knowledge of the entire rules book. It covers the entire cheerleading portion of the NFHS/USA Cheer Spirit Rules Book, including training on how to read and cite the rules book. This course can be started and stopped at any time. The full training video is 2 hours and 30 minutes in length. The full training and approximately 20 exam questions can take up to 4 hours to complete. The training video can be watched as many times as necessary and can be referenced during the exam. Exam questions will be saved as they are answered, so you can stop and come back to the exam at your convenience.

The 2025-26 “High School Cheerleading Rules Training - Changes” course covers the changes from the previous year for the cheerleading portion of the NFHS/USA Cheer Spirit Rules Book. This training course is ideal for veteran coaches with existing knowledge of current rules.  The Comprehensive Rules Course will be available soon!

The USA Cheer Coaching Young Athletes Course covers the role of a youth coach, being an active coach, working with your athletes, creating a positive experience, motivating athletes, the benefits of athletic participation.

This course is ideal for youth coaches and administrators seeking to increase their knowledge about working with youth cheerleaders. 

Body Confident Sport is a first-of-its-kind, scientifically proven set of coaching tools to build body confidence in 11–17 year old girls. It was co-developed by Dove and Nike, in partnership with world-renowned researchers and experts – the Centre for Appearance Research and the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport – and includes input from girls and coaches from six countries, including France, India, Japan, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S.

Body Confident Sport provides coaches with the materials they need to increase girls’ body confidence, body image and self-esteem through sport.

This initiative was created to help girls and young people of all gender identities feel more comfortable being active and participating in sport. The aim is to empower coaches and athletes around the world to celebrate the truly awesome things active bodies can do.

In this course, you will be directed to the Body Confident Sport site to complete the training, then return for confirmation to complete your certificate with USA Cheer.

This training is provided free from our partnership with TeachAids. This fundamental CrashCourse Concussion education product was created with user-centered formative design research studies. It synthesizes first-person and third-person experiential perspectives to inform and motivate learning about concussion signs and symptoms, correcting myths and misconceptions, recognizing the seriousness of reporting and understanding the importance of working with a physician to determine the best strategy for improvement. It integrates these topics into a narrative story-driven format with the learner at the center of the education experience.
 
Upon receiving a concussion, the learner is faced with a moral dilemma: to “Take a Knee” or “Stay in the Game.” Each decision leads the learner down a different path to reflect the consequences (both positive and negative) of their decision. This twelve-minute production can be accessed through the link above as a standard video and in virtual reality (Google Cardboard | Oculus Rift/Rift S | Oculus Go).
 
At the end of this 12-minute interactive video course, the learner will have the opportunity to answer questions to test their knowledge and receive a Certificate of Completion.
 

This training is provided for free from USA Cheer. It is intended to provide the viewer with an understanding of Bullying, Hazing, Physical and Emotional Misconduct and Sexual Abuse; the grooming process and common behavior of offenders; signs, symptoms & effects of abuse and harassment; and appropriate ways to handle and respond to a report of or suspicion of abuse.

This training is provided for free from USA Cheer. It is intended to provide athletes with an understanding of Bullying, Hazing, Physical and Emotional Misconduct and Sexual Abuse; the grooming process and common behavior of offenders; signs, symptoms & effects of abuse and harassment; and appropriate ways to handle and respond to a report of or suspicion of abuse.

This course covers being an active coach, working with young athletes, creating a positive experience, motivating athletes, and the benefits of athletic participation.

This form is required to be completed and submitted by the STUNT Coach or Program Administrator of the Youth Club Program for any athletes requesting to play in an age division outside of where their 'League Age' places them. This form requires a signed Parent Acknowledgement to be completed and uploaded along with the waiver request. There is a limit in the number of forms that can be approved per season, per age division.  This limit is 3 for a program in their first year of that age division, and 2 for a program in their 2+ year of that age division.

This course includes details for College STUNT including team makeup, athlete guidelines, and college specific rules for the 2025 season. The training also includes a 10 question comprehensive exam.

This course includes details for High School and Junior High STUNT including team information, game specifics, and level specific rules for the 2025 season. The training also includes a 10 question comprehensive exam.

This certification is a requirement to be a STUNT Official (scoring officials or referees) for the 2025 season (valid for 2025 spring/fall club season). The certification requires passing a comprehensive exam with an 80% or higher and maintaining knowledge by reviewing the training, Rulebook, and other provided resources throughout the season.
